Elementally Being

When I went on the deck earlier, the sky was cloudy, the morning was humid, but, no rain. After going back into the house, I heard it start–the first raindrops. Immediately, problems receded, troubles hid their faces, and for a few moments, I simply relished the sound, the scent, the feel of raindrops. The rain was a curtain, keeping out everything else.

Isn’t it wonderful that sometimes we can do that–just live in the moment–be a part of a pattern as old as time, yet as fresh as the morning. No matter what’s going on in the world, it is still turning. Seasons come and go, weather happens, summer follows spring and nature rejoices. Sometimes, it’s good to forget everything else and just be a part of the moment.
