Where Cozy Critters Critique

I’ve a question. What is a cozy critter? Now, we in the South know that a critter is our way of saying, “creature”. And, of course, a creature is a living being made by our Creator. But a cozy critter? Let me give you a clue. Cozy critters come in all shapes and sizes. Each one has individual talents, goals, likes and dislikes. Some are taller, some are shorter. But we are all readers and writers and warm, friendly ladies who enjoy getting together to listen, learn, share ideas, give pointers and encouragement. To put a little rhyme to it: a cozy critter is a knitter. Cozy critters take the raw material of words (which critters tend to love) and work them into a lively work of art. Some of us knit together words that are encouraging;  some of our works keep us guessing ’til the end and some finished products are downright mysterious and meant to send a shiver up the spine.  In our more formal moments (which are rare) we call ourselves the cozy critiquers but a couple of our inventive members shortened it a bit and it fits! Actually, we are a group of friends with a common interest and we laugh a lot!

So, today a bunch of critters will make their way to my house for a listening, reading, gentle critiquing session. Caramel drizzle coffee will be in the pot, cookies will be on the table. The fireplace will be blazing, and Mom’s hundred-year old table will be waiting for us to sit down and get started. It’s a fun time, a time I look forward to, and a cold day in November is perfect for a cozy critique.

Warmth, laughter, and a pot of coffee will warm the coldest day!
