A Blessing for Writers and Readers

A Blessing for Writers and Readers

May our tongues always be the pens of ready writers, never running out of a wellspring of words and the most engaging way of saying them. May our thoughts be open to inspiration and divine guidance and our fingers able to translate those thoughts into words on paper. A never-ending stream of eager followers, encouraging, insightful reviews, computers that never fail us, marketing that won’t derail us, friends to encourage us, critiques to sharpen our skills, and a cozy, comfortable nook in which to write, a cheerful fire blazing on the hearth as snow falls gently outside our window; may all these be ours.

Readers  (and there is no distinction here between readers and writers because writers must be readers too), may we always have a basket (or bookshelf) of wonderful books close at hand, keen eyesight and discerning minds, the ability to lose ourselves in the make-believe world created by the writer, and a never-ending supply of well-written cozy mysteries. May we develop a feeling of kinship with our favorite authors and those who love their books and may we always find our treasured adventures and mysteries on the shelves of libraries and book stores. May we readers experience the coziness of a warm fire in winter, a cup of hot coffee, and a lovely snowfall closing us in with some of our best friends, the characters in our favorite books.

  1. I am definitely more of a reader than a writer; it isn’t easy for someone who doesn’t have the natural talent. My son-in-law is an awesome writer as is my friend, Blanche.

  2. That is so nice and encouraging. Thank you
