A growl woke me this morning. Was Nemo growlinig? I opened my eyes. No, he was still snoozing peacefully. The growl came again and I realized it was thunder! I’m up, drinking coffee now and thunder still mumbles and crashes through the dark sky. Rain falls too. Maybe it will settle this Saharan dust that the weatherman says is with us.
Houses and trees are dark and blurry shapes as rain pounds harder. The little neighborhood cat is home now, safe in his dry, warm home. I’m quite sure the bugs and insects are tucked away somewhere safe, including the spider I swept off the deck yesterday. Birds and squirrels hover in nests in trees, I imagine, although I’ve never seen them doing this. Nature is secretive in many ways, but not with summer storms. They are definitely loud and visible.
Thunder mutters again and rain falls harder, a lovely start to an unusually wet July day.

I’m not to thrilled about thunder and lightning, but these days we could use more rain over here!
Right! We’ve had a shower again today and looks like we may get more rain. It’s really unusual to have a wet, cool July, but I’m not complaining.
