The Joy of My Heart

The Joy of My Heart

God keeps me busy with the joy of my heart, so says King Solomon in the Book of Ecclesiastes. Have you ever thought about that? What do you love most in this world? Are your thoughts and your hands busy with whatever that is?

God gives gifts, to this one a certain gift,to another person, a different gift. And, remember, a gift is something that is given freely, no strings attached, undeserved, and brings us and others joy. A gift is not a reward, it is not something earned. It is also something to be shared, for how can it bring joy if it is hoarded?

For me, the joy of my heart is writing, bringing life to situations and people who first existed in my mind then on paper and now in the minds of others. That is exciting! That is fun! And, it’s never too late to open and use your particular gift, whatever it is.

  1. I agree. I am glad for your gift of writing. I know God gave me the gift to crochet and even when I was so weak with my neuromuscular disease that I could still pick up a hook and crochet lapghans for hospice patients and bless them and me.
