Old as Time; New Every Morning

Old as Time; New Every Morning

It sounds like a riddle, doesn’t it? What’s as old as time, yet new every morning? But, it isn’t a riddle and it isn’t something hard and convoluted. It’s really quite simple–it’s love.

Recently, my niece sent me some photos she found in her mom and dad’s album. As I looked through old family pictures, I realized anew how much I love these people. Many of them are gone now, but did love leave when they did? No. They are not with me any longer, but I love them still.

My family who is only a few minutes away, my friends and scattered family members–we may be separated, but love is stretchable, bendable, bright and shining no matter how old it is. Love is what makes each day worthwhile, puts the shine on mundane tasks, laughter in the day, and peace in the night. Without love, I’m convinced the world would put a meaningless, senseless, tangled mass.

And, by the way, that picture at the top of the page? That’s by another talented niece, Missy Day Albrecht.

And now, to a work that I love to do, that puts a tingle in my toes and a spring in my step: Writing. Here’s the answer to today’s Mini-Mystery: The two new things added to the cover of By the Fright of the Silvery Moon? That delightful little owl logo in the corner and the numerals that show the sequence of Moonlight Can Be Murder and By the Fright of the Silvery Moon!

Countdown: Three! Count them–Three More Days!
