No Icing on This Winter Day

No Icing on This Winter Day

Yesterday, it rained, just a hint of ice in the rain. This morning, the temperature is above freezing. We still have a chance for snow tonight and tomorrow. Will it happen? Only The Shadow knows. (heh).

For those of you who think the holidays have driven me a bit barmy, The Shadow was an old-time radio program which always ended with the phrase, “Only The Shadow knows.” Then, there’d be a maniacal laugh fading away.

What does one do when the last cozy mystery has been sent to the publisher? Things will speed up soon with another editing, choosing the book cover, writing a blurb, etc., but, for now, I’m at loose ends. I suppose I start another cozy, this one just for fun. My writers’ group and I have talked for a long time about a mystery centered around a critique group. I’ve written the first chapter and I’ll add more to it as my devious and mysterious mind directs. Will it be a runaway best-seller? Probably not. This one is just for fun.

Meanwhile, life goes on in these post-Christmas days of winter. This morning, Nemo goes to his vet for a visit. Some friends may drop in this afternoon. Snow may come tonight, or, it may not. I hope that your day is richly blessed with warmth and gladness and may all your mysteries be cozy ones.
