Hello, Old Man Winter

Today is the first day of winter, officially. It’s the shortest day of the year and henceforth, each day will get a tiny bit longer until finally, on the first day of spring, day and night will be equal. It’s pretty special, when you stop and think about it. Meteorology, in fact, all of nature, is pretty fascinating, the perfect timing, the way things work. It all fits together.

Is your Christmas shopping finished? Is your baking done or are you just about to commence? Most importantly, do you have that warm, loving Christmas feeling? Christmas is more than all the preparation and pretty lights, you know. It is much, much more.

Seasons change, this old earth keeps spinning and revolving, sunrise, sunset, all just as it’s supposed to be–just the way God set it in motion.

Be sure to take time out to relax, get a warm drink, put your feet up, and settle in with an exciting cozy mystery. It’s a good way to celebrate the beginning of winter.

  1. Love how your mantle is decorated! Also, love that there’s no snow to start the beginning of winter!
