The Feeling of Winning the Lottery

The Feeling of Winning the Lottery

Is there anything more heady and exhilarating than launching a brand new book? Well, sure, I guess there is–the birth of a baby is more exciting. But, is winning the lottery? Having never won that or even tried to,I’d have no idea, but it sounds like fun. Finding that an unknown, rich uncle had died and left me his multi-million dollar estate in Ireland might equate to releasing a new book onto the world of reading. And, if I ever got to go to the Kentucky Derby to watch the horses run, yes, that would be breathtaking. But would it be as thrilling as seeing a book I’ve written listed on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and other book stores? I’ll have to consider that.

By the Fright of the Silvery Moon, due to be released Wednesday (can you believe it? Two more days!) was so much fun to write! When I left Ned McNeil, in Moonlight Can Be Murder,  it was Christmas. Candles were glowing, Ned had just come through a harrowing time, and things were looking up concerning Cade Morris. Now, in Fright, it is almost a year later. A lot has happened! And, I can hardly wait to share all those exciting happenings with you.

So, hang tight! We are almost there.

Now, to the Mini-Mystery: Actually, my middle name is Blanche. My first name? It’s Roberta. I was named after my dad, Robert, with an “a” on the end. Going by my middle name sometimes causes a bit of confusion but it’s one of those things I’ve gotten used to. How about you? Do you go by your middle name too?

Comments

  1. I was named after an aunt and growing up I didn’t like the old fashioned name of Edna. I nagged my family until they finally started calling me by a derivation of my middle name, which is Margaret. So now I’m known as Peg, a name I much prefer. Although, I did still occasionally hear “Edna Margaret!” when I was in trouble.

  2. Peg, I think Edna Margaret is a very pretty name. Thanks for letting us in on that.

  3. A mystery revealed! And congrats again, “Blanche”!
