I woke up to a world of white this morning–a frigid, frozen world. I’m not sure how much snow is on the ground–not as much as was forecast, but several inches. At one point, we had sleet so that, with the snow, makes for a lot of cold stuff. It’s pretty, though, if you’re in a warm house looking out the window. Outside in it all, I imagine it’s not quite so pretty.
One thing I’ve always enjoyed about snow is snowlight. Even without a moon or any light from the house, the snow lights the darkness. It’s quiet, light, and glacial.
Even church is closed this morning, going to an online service in the interest of safety for the congregants. This is an almost-never occurrence. It’s a perfect day to stay inside, wrap up in an afghan in front of the fireplace and, with a cup of coffee at hand, escape into the world of a warm and cozy mystery.
