Thoughts for a Chilly Thursday

Thoughts for a Chilly Thursday

Some mornings, even a hot cup of strong coffee has a hard time making inroads. This is one of those mornings. Maybe it’s the thought of a coming snowstorm and the inclination to hibernate. Whatever is causing it, I am slow on getting started with the morning.

Nemo has the right idea. He has performed the duty of an alarm clock and routed me out of bed, eaten breakfast, had a brief tussle with a chewy bone, and gone back to sleep. No worries, no problems; he is content.

The weatherman is saying the weekend will be a wintry one: freezing rain, wintry mix, moderate snow. If anything should perk me up and get me started to the grocery store, it’s a forecast like that. Yesterday, though chilly, was a beautiful, sunny day. Today? I suppose it’ll be going downhill, weather-wise. It’s a good day for staying close to the fireplace, writing, painting, staring at the logs, thinking.

How about the weather at your house? Some of you are used to the snow already; some of you live in the sunny South where snow doesn’t dare encroach. Some of you, like me, view snow as An Event, and watch for it with mixed feelings. Do you have a good supply of books at hand? Books can enhance any day, snowy or otherwise. Remember to warm your heart around good thoughts and enjoy God’s blessings.
