Thanksgiving Day Past

Thanksgiving Day Past

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone and it was worth the effort! It was great to see family and friends, eat and talk and eat some more. We did a lot of talking, every topic under the sun was covered. It was so good to see Steven, my nephew from Minnesota. And, of course Tracy, Richard and Linda, Louie and Angie, and to have Matt, Dawn, Sara and Nathan here. Mom’s hundred-year old cherry wood table couldn’t hold all the food, so we set it on the counter, passed along, and filled our plates. The wicker turkey bread basket once again held homemade yeast rolls, my sister Helen’s recipe.

After dinner, the children raked leaves. “Oh, great!” you say. “What a nice thing to do for Mem.” Well, the nice thing was watching Nathan and Sara play in the mountain of leaves they raked up. They jumped in them, disappearing from view. The leaves were in perfect condition for making jumping piles: dry, crisp, and bountiful.

Of course, we discussed books and when everyone left, my supply had diminished. I can’t wait to hear how they like them! Speaking of books, thanks again to all those who are buying. Darcy and Flora and I as well as several other authors will be at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville this Saturday, 1:30-4:00. The Darcy and Flora cozies will also be in Tahlequah at the Thompson House Victorian Christmas December 5, 6, 7.  This beautiful old Victorian House will be decked out in Christmas finery and will exhibit for sale many exquisite handmade gifts. It’s well worth a visit.

Another way to find the three cozy mysteries: go to amazon.com. Type in the kindle store/blanche day manos.

  3. Thanks, Miss. I can’t take credit for the gourd. He was a craft fair purchase a few years ago. Yes, it was a very good day. Wish you could have been here.
