So That’s How It Went

So That’s How It Went

Wednesday: Smack Dab in the Middle–of the week, that is, and the day for another Cozy Critique. Although Jane and Peg were absent for reasons far beyond their control, they do plan to be with us next time. Nancy and Helen came and Helen brought a guest, Kaye. Kaye has been with us once before. She always brings a lot of language expertise as well as fun with her.

Nancy had much to share on the release of The Grace Impact which will happen next week. She has launch parties and book signings already planned. Helen brought four devotionals that we happily critiqued. As I critiqued, I found myself encouraged by Helen’s upbeat and positive writings. I think that’s the reason she sells so regularly to various periodicals. People need to read uplifting stories.

And I? Well, I have a few things swirling in my mind: an assignment from a Christian periodical is due next month. Darcy and Flora are demanding to be heard and they do not take kindly to procrastination. And, then, there’s the children’s historical fiction which is nearing completion. That’s what I read to the group and they had some positive and helpful hints.

Cookies and coffee completed the session along with iced tea because springtime has definitely arrived. When the cozy critique ended, I was left hoping that every writer has a support group, people who encourage, point out positive change, and who laugh and have fun along the way.

On another positive note, my pretty little redbud tree which grows too close to the deck, is blooming, the state tree of my beloved Oklahoma.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the “Name That Tune” contest. I appreciate your taking time to join in the fun!
