It is always a treat to go to one of Fran’s luncheons. Yesterday was no exception. Fran’s house, inside and out, are works of art. She has the prettiest container garden I’ve ever seen. It was the inspiration for mine. As Peg, Jane, Judy and I walked up to the porch, we passed the lovely flowers in her front yard. What a welcome!
Just inside the door is Fran’s Christmas tree. It stays up year round, decorated for each season. Yesterday, the theme was Independence Day, so red, white and blue items graced the tree.
Fran’s long dining table was resplendent in red. Halves of watermelons were the edible embellishments. The food looked delicious and, believe me, the looks didn’t lie. Salads and a dessert table tempted even the staunchest dieter. 
I think Fran’s shady back yard is as pretty as the front. And remember, most of these plants, flowers, and shrubs are in pots. It’s evident Fran and her husband lavish TLC on their yards and the flowers respond. It was another thoroughly enjoyable few hours spent chatting with friends and enjoying delicious food. Now, I can hardly wait ’til next time. I wonder what that theme will be?
