Exciting Interview!

Exciting Interview!

Some of my fondest memories are sitting at my parents’ kitchen table, drinking coffee and talking with them. Something about being in their presence, of a simple conversation, cheered me like nothing else. They were my re-fueling station.

I wish I could remember each word that we said so I could re-play it in my mind, rather like visiting with them again but I can’t. I do, however, still feel the warmth, the security and the love of just being with them. I was home.

We all need inspiration and my family was my inspiration to write. When I write about Darcy and Flora sitting at their hundred-year old table, solving mysteries over a cup of coffee, I’m writing about my own experience.

Even though those conversations with Mom and Dad are gone now, I still have the blessing of talking with my family and friends. Through writing, I’ve met some really neat new friends. One of those friends is Janet Brown, another Pen-L writer. And this morning, she generously put her interview with me on her own website: http://www.janetkbrown.com/2015/02/an-interview-with-blanche-day-manos.html It was sort of like sitting down at my kitchen table and talking with Janet. Fun! Check it out! You might even learn something new about me, your friendly neighborhood mystery writer.

While you are visiting Janet’s website,  look around. Her own books are listed as well as her writing activities and opportunities to meet her.
Life offers many opportunities to share, to encourage, and to comfort. I believe that our Creator made us to reflect His love and compassion. I also believe He instilled within us a lively curiosity and a generous spirit. He gave each of us different gifts and He gave us family and friends to share the journey.
