An Open Book?

An Open Book?

Sometimes, I think of life as a story that’s being told. Parts of it might be exciting, parts of it, sad. Parts of fun and parts are painful. Life is not all one thing. Mysteries, tragedies, humor, romance, adventure, and just day-to-day living are all a part of this life story. I don’t think it’s completely true that you write your own story. Oh, a person does to a certain extent, but a lot that happens is not of the protagonist’s choosing. Who would choose illness or death or heartbreak or pain for those you love?

Success lies in learning. Mistakes are made, lessons learned. Wrong choices abound but sometimes they lead to the most surprising joys. As a wise person once said, Life is not all what you make it; it’s also how you take it. In all this story, there are moments of humor and gladness, of goofiness and joy. Friendships are forged which are priceless. The meaning and worth of family and love shines brightly even in the darkest moments. Life is learning and moving forward. Regrets abound, but we can’t live there. Success lies in moving forward, appreciating yesterday but looking forward to tomorrow.
