An Eye on the Sky

An Eye on the Sky

Thunder shakes the house as lightning shivers across the sky. Car lights, like glowing eyes, glide down the street. Tree limbs, darker than the sky behind them, move restlessly in the wind while inside the small, brick house, the writer peers at her computer screen.

Yes, that’s me this morning. We are under a tornado watch, so I’m watching, but the watch has not turned into an alert and that’s good. Weathermen want to make sure we know there is a possible danger and to warn us to be aware when conditions are right for vicious storms.

I’m glad I didn’t plant any flowers yesterday as the rain would probably pound them into the earth. But, you know what this weather is perfect for? Of course. Reading. Writing. Coffee. And watching the sky.
