When the Storms Roared Through

When the Storms Roared Through

Another past President has died. President George H. W. Bush died last night in Texas. It’s always sad to see someone go and remember the times that were associated with him.

Indeed, the storms roared through last night. Tornadoes touched down in places. A friend in Oklahoma had major damage from the tornado, but, thankfully, she and her family are safe. I haven’t heard yet about other places that got the brunt of the storm, but I’m sure there were many in Arkansas as well as Oklahoma.

Nemo certainly knew when the storm arrived and, if I had had no other indication than Nemo, I would have known too. In spite of tranquilizers and a thunder shirt, he was beside himself. He panicked and paced and, although he didn’t whine, I think the only reason was that he was too scared. No amount of reassurance calmed him.

This morning is sunny and windy. The leaves remaining on my yard after the big clean-up will blow first one way then from the opposite direction. I’d say it is an unsettled morning.

If you are in the Tahlequah area this morning, pop into the Thompson House. Their Victorian Fair is going on and there’s always lots of lovely things to see and buy. Besides, that lovely old house itself, all bedecked for Christmas, is reason enough to go.

  1. Sorry about your friend, but thankful she is ok. It certainly was a noisy storm. I don’t normally hear the wind at night, but it was rattling the house for sure. But I was sooo tired I got a good night’s sleep in spite of it.
