What Does It Know?

What Does It Know?

What does my white mulberry tree know that no other tree knows? What is the secret that the wind whispers to it during the night? Only the tree knows; I don’t. But every year, and not at the same time each year, it drops all or almost all of its leaves on the ground. Oh, a few fall before then, but not many. It seems to be waiting for the very best time and then down they all come at once.

\What tells the leaves it’s time to go? It’s a mystery!

  1. The wind, rain and cold have something to do with all the leaves falling from our maple trees. We never know how many leaves there are up there until they all come tumbling down in the front and backyards!

The way the wind is blowing here today, by morning, some of the trees will be practically bare. We’re supposed to get rain tomorrow too, and that will be most welcome! This white mulberry tree is the only one I know of that keeps most of its leaves until something triggers it and zip! Down they all come during the night.
