Springtime in Arkansas

Springtime in Arkansas

The maple in my front yard has fresh green leaves–the tassels are still hanging on, but they’ll soon drop off, leaving those new leaves. The white mulberry is a little slower, but leaves are appearing on it too. My pin oak is yet in the tassel stage, usually being more hesitant, trying to make sure it’s safe to come out.

Each yard, each patch of nature is chock full of lovely surprises. The bumble bees love the redbud tree. I think I saw some honey bees in those blossoms too. The wild violets are different shades, including a deep, actual violet shade. It’s beautiful, growing off by itself among the grasses.

Yesterday, I washed deck furniture and swept the deck, getting it ready for the season. It was a lovely day to sit out, weather was balmy. The day was made even better when Matt and Nathan joined me. Nemo was in his element, having his family around, and being able to explore all those enticing scents left by squirrels and rabbits and…well, who knows what else?

Springtime in Arkansas is the nicest time of year.

Sounds wonderful…springtime in Arkansas. 🙂 Lovely photos of flowers. My cousin lives in Arkansas. I visited many years back. The area was beautiful.

We are expecting a snowstorm today and tomorrow.
