It’s No Joke

It’s no joke–we are actually into another brand-new month. I’m not sure where March went–perhaps it was blown away on one of those blustery winds.

April is a wonderful month. April people, you have a great gemstone–the diamond. Next to a cozy mystery, a diamond may be a girl’s best friend!

April’s special flowers are the daisy and the sweet pea. If it thunders on April Fool’s Day, farmers will have lots of corn and hay. Today and tonight, we are expecting lots of thunder and wild weather, so farmers, take heart! This should be a good year for you.

Listen to the frogs this month. The louder the frogs, the more the rain. I like frogs and they are endangered too, to my way of thinking. Insecticides and herbicides are causing a decrease in their population, sad to say.

The wildflowers are beautiful this year. They are hardier than the other kind and bravely appear when the weather isn’t too inviting. The wild violets in my back yard are especially pretty this spring.

Of course, today’s the day to watch out for ridiculous statements. I so remember those days in kindergarten: “Mrs. Manos, your shoes are untied,” “Mrs. Manos, there’s a bug on your head.” And then, lots of giggles from my five-year olds.

However, this is no April Fool’s joke–a good way to start a new month is with a mystery–a cozy mystery. If we truly have the storms tonight that are predicted, why not curl up in your favorite place with Moonstruck and Murderous? If there’s thunder, lightning, and pounding rain, that will be a wonderful accompaniment. Happy reading and happy April!
