In the Face of Danger

In the Face of Danger

A cool wind stirs the leaves on the maple. The leaves are, one by one and in bunches, turning to gold and orange. With a lot of green mixed it, the tree is really beautiful.

We need rain, but not as badly as the people in Colorado and California and other states, particularly in the west and northwest, need it. Those devastating fires need to be stopped. People’s lives and the lives of countless animals are in danger.

Our country is in need of many things–healing, both physical and spiritual, love instead of hatred, truth instead of lies, kindness instead of meanness. We need clear thinking and wise decisions. And, we need rain.

Not any one person or group of people can meet these needs. So, I pray. I ask God to be merciful. He is our only hope.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9j.
