Happy December

Happy December

Happy birth month, all you December angels, everyone born in this first winter month. You really shine with turquoise as your birth stone and tanzanite as your second choice. By the way, your lovely color is blue. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Narcissus and poinsettia are your flowers. Two of everything for you!

Here’s a fun fact, according to a survey: more dentists have birthdays in December than any other month. Is that true, do you think?

December starts on the same day of the week as September starts and ends on the same day of the week as April ends. Interesting!

Ever wonder why some things just go with December and Christmas and a special time of year? Candles represent Christ, the light of the world, the star at the top is a reminder of that first Christmas star, and candy canes represent the shepherds’ staffs.

In 1647, Oliver Cromwell, an English Puritan,  banned Christmas festivities, saying they were pagan for such a holy day. This ban lasted thirteen years.

There are fewer daylight hours in December than in any other month. Maybe this is why the candles and the star shine so brightly.

These fun things are from Fun Facts About December. I’ll bet you know a few more of your own. In any case, happy birthday, to all those people born this month. I hope it’s a great month for you and for all the rest of us too!
