Christmas at Fran’s House

Christmas at Fran’s House

Yesterday, Jane and I drove to Fran’s  for her monthly luncheon. This time the theme was Christmas. If ever a house is decked out to welcome the Christmas season, it’s Fran’s.  The food was a visual and tasty treat!  Salads, two kinds of soup, desserts galore! Everything about the house, including the warm welcome, seemed to shout, “Hallelujah!”003

Five of us Cozy Critters were at the luncheon. Fran generously gave Nancy and me opportunity to talk about our books: Nancy’s devotional book, The Grace Impact and my cozy mysteries. Happily, I sold some to a generous fan.006

Conversation around Fran’s table was spirited and diverse. Grandchildren are always a favorite topic as are books, food, Christmas (of course) and Fran’s upcoming one-day retreat. One of the ladies had returned from a trip to Texas and one is getting ready for a trip to New York.007

A CD of piano Christmas music by Nancy played softly in the background. Fran’s orange Persian, Miss Kitty, meandered throughout the group, greeting us and offering to shake hands. A video of the Yule log crackling on the television screen added to the welcoming atmosphere. Luncheon at Fran’s was like opening an early Christmas gift–a special, delightful treat. Hallelujah!

  1. Lunch at Fran’s is always a relaxing time filled with love and laughter. Women come from all over – Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers so it gives us a chance to catch up with friends we don’t see often.

  2. Absolutely. I’m so glad you invited me several years ago.

  3. Hmm, sounds so wonderful. Too bad the timing is not good for me. Maybe sometime.

    • I hope so. I remember you said quite some time ago that mornings away wouldn’t work for you. I hope you can make it next time, the first Wednesday in January.
