Happy New Year! And, happy birth month to all you wonderful people who were born in January. Your birthstone is one of my favorites–the garnet, a lovely, deep red stone. Your flower is the carnation. Carnations are used to celebrate many occasions and have a heady fragrance. You share this birth month with Paul Revere, Betsy Ross, J. Edgar Hoover, and Elvis Presley!
This is a month of beginnings, of looking forward to a new year and hopefully some dreams realized. It’s also a month of appreciating indoor warmth and the simple pleasures of home and hearth.
