And the Grape Vine Grew

And the Grape Vine Grew

I like herbs and flowers and vegetables–well, almost any plant is worth knowing, even the poisonous kind like castor beans or polk. This year, I determined to put out some tomato plants. Alas, my yard is mostly shade and my tomato plants haven’t done well. However, the herbs have and so has my grape vine! Nature has many mysteries and how a plant can grow from a tiny seed is one of them.

This year for the first time ever, I planted a grape vine. It seems to like its new home in my front flower bed and is beginning to need some sort of support. So, yesterday, I found a small, wood trellis and that’s what the vine is now supposed to like and climb right up.

As I was looking for a trellis, I saw a vining bee balm who needed a home. There’s nothing like green, growing plants to brighten a day.

I’ll let you know how the grape vine does. Hopefully, one day it’ll have grapes. I imagine it’ll take a while, but anything that’s worthwhile is worth waiting for. Right?
