So cold this morning. Temperature in the twenties. This first cup of Folger’s is very welcome. I remember olden days when all we had for heat was a wood-burning stove. Dad would get up before the rest of the family and build a fire in the stove. We would wait until the house had warmed up a little before rolling out of bed onto that cold linoleum floor.
Times have changed and, since I was a child, people have changed too. At least, judging from listening to the news, it seems that they have. Old timers may not have had all the conveniences and technology which seem essential today but there was a good supply of common sense which, I fear, is in short supply nowadays.
A couple of days ago, as I was reading my Bible, I read once more Micah 4:1-5. Beautiful, hopeful words. God’s Word is abundantly at hand, in actual Books as well as the Internet. It is a lifeline but so many people don’t believe it is and refuse to grasp it.
This, however, is a beautiful Sunday and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I hope you will too.

Also one of my favorite Bible texts. Hope in a hopeless world!!
You are absolutely right, Sharon. Thanks for writing.
We rejoice in our days here, and are waiting for high temps in the 20s Thursday (along with snow, of course)!
You are in your cozy and beautiful home in that lovely setting and you’ve got bears! How lucky can you be?
