It’s hard to believe that this is the last day of September! Do you suppose time is really passing faster?

The birds are becoming more active. Bluejays screech in the back yard and this morning, a small wren came to pay her respects, peering up at me from the deck railing. They seem to sense a change is coming. Summer’s warmth will soon be a thing of the past.

Bugs and spiders are busy, as if they know there’s only a few more days of warm weather. Then, they’ll either have to find a warmer climate or hide away under rocks and leaves.

So, September finishes quietly. The morning is still and crisp. Squirrels are jumping through the leaves and a bunch of robins have dropped in for drinks of water. I wonder if they are getting ready to fly South. But, whatever their intention, this day is theirs and ours, and that in itself is a cause for celebration!
