One Fine Fall Morning

This morning, as I look out of my front room window (I can’t keep from looking out, because my computer is in front of it) I see that autumn is really pretty far advanced. This old year is nearing the finish mark. The trees, having provided food, shade, and safety to little birds and animals, and just quietly being beautiful, are already shedding this year’s crop of leaves. And, I’m wondering where the time has gone.  We are nearing the time of peace on earth, that comes around every year, celebrating the Prince of Peace who graced this world, but politicians are still feuding and so many of their followers are doing the same.

I guess the earth turns, seasons change, but people are people, no matter the time or season.

The wind is strong this morning, blowing leaves before it. It may be blowing in a cold front, one that will give us rain. Autumn rain–a tucking in of summer, getting ready for another season to come.

  1. The leaves on the trees are sure pretty this time of year, but a huge problem once on the ground! Seems this year had more than usual, or maybe I just don’t remember last year’s crop. lol

Actually, I wish my trees had more leaves. We had a horrific hail storm last spring that did a lot of damage and the trees are not very pretty this fall. At least, mine aren’t. And, no acorns at all from the oaks.
