What could possibly be better than getting that first box of my Darcy and Flora cozies? Getting the second box of Darcy and Flora cozies! That second box came yesterday and now I should have plenty for the book signing Saturday at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville, the Thompson House Victorian Christmas in Tahlequah, and Fran’s upcoming luncheon.
A second question: what could be more exciting than that second box of books? The fact that Darcy and Flora are now available in Kindle format at Amazon.com. That’s wonderful! That is truly good news, a real cause for jubilation.
And, interspersed with all that excitement is the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration and all the things that go with preparing for it. Dawn, Angie, and Linda are bringing different dishes and we’ll put them all together for that annual feast. My part is to make two cream pies, yeast rolls, mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, and cook the cranberries. I’ll do most of that tomorrow and finished Thursday morning.
With all the sunshine, there is shadow too this Thanksgiving. My dear sister Helen is not well. So, each day I wait for my niece’s update, praying and hoping for the best. I remember past Thanksgivings at Mom and Dad’s house. Helen and Ray and their children were always with us. She was an organizer, cheerful, upbeat, and busy–always busy and encouraging other people to be busy too. She could not abide idleness when there was work to be done. I’ve never known a more inspirational, classy lady than that red-haired sister of mine.
