Chills and Frostbite

Chills and Frostbite

That chill I feel is not due to reading an exciting cozy mystery. I am about as shivery as my poor container garden looks this morning! The temperature is just below thirty degrees. Thank goodness I brought in the huge geranium and the two pots of chrysanthemums, also the chocolate mint from the back yard. Yesterday was a fireplace-going kind of day and last night was festive with Matt and his family eating burgers with me. So comes a new month, bright and shining clean and I pray that it is filled with good things for all of us.

Some parts of our United States will have snow this weekend. Last winter set records for cold and it looks as if this winter may do the same. Many scientists are saying that the earth is under-going a cooling cycle. Since the beginning of time, that’s the way it goes: warming, cooling; cooling, warming. Let’s hope the cooling doesn’t become too severe nor prolonged, though, because famines occur when the growing season is not long enough for crops.

How many of you guessed correctly that the excerpt from yesterday’s blog was from my newest book, Best Left Buried? Missy got it right! She read the first two Darcy and Flora cozies, The Cemetery Club and Grave Shift. Today they all go on sale at Pen-L.com for the regular price. Thanks to each of you for ordering. With Christmas coming up and the need to buy gifts, you might consider a book. Books are gifts that last forever.

A November Blessing: May the Lord give you enough sunshine to appreciate the rain, a warm fire and plenty of coffee, friends and family to refresh your spirit, and a supply of cozy mysteries to stir your imagination.
