Do you ever have the feeling that you’d like to sit down and talk with someone who is older, wiser and more logical and who could give good answers to the craziness in the world today? I do. I’ve got a lot of questions that I’d like to ask. In fact, I’m not even sure I could put my questions in a way that would make sense.
On thing I know for sure, I’ll not find the answers on Facebook or any of the network news programs. Instead, I’ll find many more problems, much more reporting of news from a particular slant or viewpoint. Whatever happened to just reporting What, Where, When, Why, and How? Anything else comes under the heading of interpretive writing.
Sometimes, this world sounds like the tune that legend says was played by the British band at the surrender of Yorktown, The World Turned Upside Down.
As in a mystery novel, follow the news clues to the source (if you can). If you trace the person reporting the news back to the news organization and who owns it and what the owner’s agenda is, you may be on the right track. It’s like the old saying, Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see (Edgar Allan Poe?) Or, don’t listen to anybody that you don’t completely trust and then learn to think for yourself!

At my age it’s hard to find someone older and wiser to consult.
Me either, Morgan. Many times, I’ve wished to be able to talk things over with my mom and dad.
