That extra bright moon shining through your window is called the Wolf Moon. Why? Perhaps because at this time of year, wolf howls were heard as they searched for food. I can imagine it–an early day family sitting inside their warm house, hearth fire blazing, wind howling outside, sounding eerily like the howl of a wolf. Sometimes, wolves might come much too close for comfort, sniffing around homes, hunting for something to eat.
Wolves still prowl in the wild, and the wind still blows and the full moon still shines down upon earth. Do you think it affects human or animal behavior? The idea that it might was the springboard for my four moonlight cozy mysteries. It’s not that bad things seem to follow Ned McNeil and she certainly isn’t superstitious, but her friend Pat is. And, Pat is certain that the puzzling activities of the people in a certain small Oklahoma town are due to the influence of a full moon. What do you think?
