Chilly Sunshine

So, today we tuck November away for another year. All the good, all the bad, folded and put away to make room for December. It’s sunny but cold this morning, if you count twenty-seven degrees as cold and I do. I hope that everyone and every animal has a warm place to be as winter begins to take hold.

It’s interesting, what I see from my front room window. Just now, a small V of wild geese swooped past, probably heading for a near-by pond. They were flying low, just above the treetops and flying fast.

More leaves are on the ground than on the trees now, brown, crisp reminders of a season past. Christmas lights glow at my neighbors’ windows. Tomorrow, we welcome a brand new month. But today, today is the last hooray for November.
