Leaves are falling like rain this morning, coming straight down with very little wind. Last night left no doubt that summer has flown for yet another season. The temperature dropped way below freezing, into the low twenties and that’s cold!
Matt brought in Agnes the Asparagus Fern last night as she can’t take the cold at all. She’s several years old now and I hope she endures through the coming winter.
Garden hoses are disconnected from faucets and faucets wrapped against the freezing temperatures. House plants are safely inside for the winter and that’s about the extent of getting ready for the cold weather. I’m sure there’ll be brief glimpses of summer now and then, but autumn has definitely taken hold. Time to be sure we have a good supply of reading material and coffee and the fireplace ready to be fired up for yet another cold season.

Snow came too soon by us and covered piles if leaves!
Brrrr. Well, no snow here yet but it sure is cold.
