The Battle and the Victory

The Battle and the Victory

The worse the news and the state of world affairs, the more important become the people who are near and dear, and the ability to look at the wondrous, hopeful, absolutely delightful things of this life. Just a look around, with eyes open to possibilities, will boost your spirits. Sometimes, it seems there’s a battle going on–a fight between gloom and sunshine.

People are the gems, the dearest of blessings. When children and grandchildren are small, we hold them in our arms, but when they grow beyond that stage, we can still hold them in our hearts. And, that’s where they’ll be forever.

It seems to me that everyone has an influence on someone else, or on more than one someone else. What a privilege to be allowed to instill a bit of joy or hope or a positive outlook into the life of another person. That, to me, is the greatest objective. Looking inward, toward oneself dwarfs growth. There’s more to life; there are others whose lives are important. Trying to spread a little joy or hope or strength in another person is a great privilege and one that should not be taken lightly. This is the day! Seize it and make something lovely of your moment in time.

A picker-upper for me yesterday was a visit from my sister-in-law Linda, the box of home-grown veggies she brought, the arrival of a box of Moonstruck and Murderous, and being featured on the MJB Reviewers blog. What a nice day!
