Soggy Saturday Thoughts

Soggy Saturday Thoughts

I look out of my window on the world (my own particular little corner) and see rain dimming the morning. Thunder booms, Nemo cringes, putting his paws on my leg, looking at me with questioning eyes. Sometimes a thunder shirt and soft jazz just don’t help all that much. I tell him that he’s fine, but I don’t think he believes me. The voice of the storm is louder than mine.

It’s that time of year again–thunderstorms and threats of tornadoes. The rain is essential, but damaging winds are not. It’s a time of being alert.

Or, retreating to a cozy nook with a book. That’s probably what I’ll do. A book or a piece of paper and some art supplies. Either is a good way to spend alone time.

I hope you’re doing okay with this strange season we’re in–I don’t mean the stormy springtime, I mean the season of uncertainty and aloneness. It’s good to hold onto anchors, to have firm footings, and to remember that this too shall pass.

Whether your Saturday morning is cloudy or sunny, I hope you have a cozy, if not a mysterious, day!
