Rain and Dreams and Things

Rain and Dreams and Things

It’s raining this morning. The temperature is above freezing, so that’s good.

Why does one dream? More particularly, why does one dream about a professor in college one hasn’t thought about for decades? Last night, Dr. Clayton, one of my business professor, was in my dream. I was talking to someone about, of all things, writing music!?? And, the fact that Dr. Clayton was a stickler for accuracy came into the conversation.

One soaked robin hops about the lawn. Rain is a good time for finding those juicy worms who come to the top of the ground to keep from drowning. Birds and squirrels are billing and cooing and thinking thoughts of springtime and nest-building. Soon, they’ll be so busy with feeding their babies they won’t have much time for anything else.

Rain is a good time for writers and readers. The rhythm of falling rain, of being shut away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, is perfect for relaxing and letting the imagination roam. Nemo and I are sending you good wishes and the hope that if you encounter any mysteries, they’ll all be cozy ones.
