Dogs, Flowers, Politics

I’ve had it with the news. Off it goes; off go those nasty Facebook posts that dim the sunshine in the day, and on to something that I enjoy–Nemo, flowers, coffee, fresh starts every morning.

It’s a morning ritual that Nemo goes, first thing, to find his bone placed next to his tasty breakfast in his favorite bowl in the laundry room. Sometimes, that doggy bone is devoured right away. Sometimes, he lays it down, looks at me and wags his tail, and we have a game of I Try to Take the Bone Before He Snatches It. Then, sometimes, as this morning, he simply wants to take his bone to the back yard and bury it–you know, for a rainy day.

It’s hard to decide just the best place to store that morsel. It takes a lot of deep thought. But, then, he thinks of the perfect spot and off he goes.

I glance out my kitchen window at the Rose of Sharon. It’s beautiful this year. Must be due to the abundance of rain we had this spring.

The sun is shining. God is patient with His people and has sent us yet another lovely summer day. This is the day the Lord has made. I’ll rejoice and be glad in it.
