With Mud On Our Faces

With Mud On Our Faces

How many times, did we, as parents, pick up our children when they fell, dust them off, clean the mud off their faces, give them a hug and tell them everything would be all right? We didn’t look at them and say they had to get all tidied and neat before they came to us for help, did we? We just saw they were hurting and needed us and ran to help.

As adults, how many times do we fail and fall and need God’s help but we are afraid to come to Him in our needy condition? We are ashamed of our mistakes and want to hide them from God. We try to handle things ourselves and fail miserably.

Only thing is, many times we can’t handle things on our own. We need help beyond ourselves but we, being stubborn or ashamed or fearful, don’t ask God for help.

God, as our loving Heavenly Father, longs for us to trust Him. We may have mud on our faces, but He’s the One who created us and He loves us just as we are, mud and all.

  1. Lovely blog, Blanche, and so true. Ps. 62:8 is a good reminder. Humans always want to be so independent and do just what they want to do!

  2. Thanks for the nice comment, Sharon. Yes, we humans are an obstinate, stiff-necked group, sad to say.
