One Dark and Misty Morning

The morning is cool and dark. Rain moved in yesterday and maybe, since it met with such a joyous welcome, will return today. Now, this is more like fall.

On such a dark morning, all I want to do is curl up with a good cozy mystery. But, there are things that must be done. I fully understand why many animals hibernate during the winter. When the weather turns dark and cold, a warm den must be pretty attractive. I’ve often wondered what mother bears think in the spring when they awake and see their new cubs for the first time. “Well, hello, little strangers. How did you get here?” But, they welcome them and immediately go about the process of feeding them.

My niece Missy sent a video her brother Steven made of the fabulous fall colors of the trees in northern Minnesota. Beautiful. Pretty soon, the loons will take off for warmer places and the lakes will begin to freeze. But, not yet. Right now, it’s just a lovely place to be.

Wherever your place to be is, I hope it is perfect for you and that you enjoy a peaceful, happy autumn day. Remember, any day is a good day to read a cozy mystery.
