Cozy Critters or Busy Bees?

Cozy Critters or Busy Bees?

The lively ladies who meet twice a month in my home are called The Cozy Critters–Jane’s name for us. But sometimes I think we should be called The Busy Bees because we are always buzzing here or there, doing this or that, and yet finding time to read, paint, and write. In other words, we are having fun!

Nancy, author of The Grace Impact,  went to Omaha for a blogging workshop during all that torrential rain and flooding; however, she didn’t encounter any problems. She led a workshop on blogging technology and content followed by a question and answer session. Tosca Lee, best-selling American author, also attended the conference. Her theme was “Write Through Our Fears” and “Write for God.”

Jane, poet, artist, and the author of Her Favorite Cozy Mystery Writer has been busy with training the newest member of her family. Libby, a beautiful shelter puppy decided to adopt Jane and she’s really enlivening the days. Always a prolific writer, Jane has written many children’s stories, including: Homer the Sleepy Rooster, Marty the Mall Bird, Charlotte the Mouser Cat, Adventures of Murphy Duck, Pokey Dog, The Butterfly Who Came for Christmas, Jackie the Jack Rabbit, The Yellow Parasol, and The Fear of War and the Ruby Ring. She also has written at least three story poems.

Peg loves baseball and turns up quite often at the Arvest Ball Park to watch the Naturals play. In between games, she takes care of two cats and a dog who call her house their home. Peg, however, always finds time to read. Ellery Adams is one of her favorite cozy mystery writers. Peg has just finished reading Killer Characters. It was a little different, quite a bit more intense than some of the other books, but a well-written, entertaining read.

And I? What does a mystery writer do when her latest effort is with the publisher and has been edited? She waits. By the Fright of the Silvery Moon is due to be released this month. I am really excited about this second Ned McNeil cozy. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Click on the link and read a synopsis. See what you think. Meanwhile, as I’m waiting, I’m reading. I’ve recently down-loaded Emily Brightwell’s latest, Mrs. Jeffries Rights a Wrong. I also have Carolyn Hart’s newest, Walking On My Grave.

So, now you can see why these critters are as busy as bees, but we love what we do and when we get together to discuss all things literary and a few things that are not, and we settle around the table with coffee and cookies, believe me, we have fun!
